How to Transfer WhatsApp Messages to Telegram in 2021

Telegram now allows you to import WhatsApp chats in a few easy steps…

If you feel the same way, Telegram has a unique feature — the capacity to import chats from WhatsApp. The steps are very easy and here’s when you can do it.

Are you try out this feature, make sure you have Telegram 7.4 Update because that’s the version that induces the migration feature.

Transfer WhatsApp messages to Telegram on Android 2021:

  1. Open a chat in WhatsApp and then tap the three vertical dots on the top right corner.
  2. Tap Export Chat > select Telegram in the Share menu.
  3. You’ll be asked to restore with or without media. Select the option as per your preference.

After doing this, you’d be apt to see that special WhatsApp chat on Telegram. For soon, you can only move chats one by one, there’s no way to move them across in bulk. You can also transship group chats applying the same process.

Move WhatsApp chats to Telegram on iOS:

  1. Open a chat in WhatsApp, then tap the area right beside the profile picture of contact on the top.
  2. Tap Export Chat > select Telegram in the Share menu.

There’s also a more agile way to do this by going to the main chat screen of WhatsApp, and then swiping left on a chat and then rappingExport Chat.

The messages that you import will add original timestamps and arise with a flag at the bottom that says ‘Imported’.

Another thing to take note of here is that messages and media led to Telegram will not involve extra space on your smartphone. Users can also optimize storage space and control cache size by tapping Data and Storage Usage tab in Settings.
